Do You Need a Kindle Cover?

One of the things that you'll notice most about the Kindle 2 is that it is light, very light. By adding a Kindle Cover you can give it some more weight so it feels like you are holding a real book. There are so many covers too choose from (this is where the Kindle outranks the other ebook readers by far!)

Plus you don't just have the regular black leather covers, many designers realise how popular the Kindle is and the importance of keeping it safe as well as looking stylish so companies such as M-Edge, Bobarra and Cole Hann have a great looking range in all price ranges.

There are also covers for the DX and there will no doubt also be covers for the Kindle 3 whenever that gets released.

Of course when it comes to popularity the bestselling cover for both the DX and the Kindle 2 is the Amazon Kindle Leather Cover. That may be because it is listed as an add on when you first purchase your kindle, or that it is one of the least expensive of the covers that you can purchase for your ebook reader.

The Amazon Leather cover has come a long way since its original design which was flimsy and didn't hold the reader in place securely. Since then, once the Kindle 2 came out, Amazon improved their covers that it fits the reader better, is now strapped in, and is much more sturdy.

Another positive about the new covers is that they don't add any extra bulk to your ebook reader - which is important if you like that streamlined look.

There is still no latch to keep the cover closed (like some of the designer brands include) but many resourceful customers have added some Velcro themselves to keep it together.
